Description

These Cranberry Turkey Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack featuring layers of thick-cut deli turkey or ham, tangy cranberry sauce, and creamy Swiss or Provolone cheese, all sandwiched between soft Hawaiian dinner rolls. The buttery garlic and poppy seed topping baked to a golden brown adds a perfect savory finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound thick-cut deli turkey or ham
  • 6 large slices Swiss or Provolone cheese
  • 1 1/4 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 12-pack Hawaiian Dinner Rolls

Butter Mixture

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Poppy Seeds
  • 2-3 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Assemble Sliders: Cut the Hawaiian dinner rolls in half horizontally. Lay down the bottom half of the rolls on a baking dish, then evenly layer the thick-cut deli turkey or ham over the bread. Spread cranberry sauce evenly on top of the turkey, then lay the Swiss or Provolone cheese slices over the cranberry sauce. Finally, add the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  3. Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Mix well to create a flavorful butter topping.
  4. Brush Topping: Brush the prepared butter mixture generously over the top layer of the sandwich rolls to add flavor and to help them brown nicely while baking.
  5. Bake Covered: Cover the assembled sliders tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes. This allows the cheese to melt and flavors to meld.
  6. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue to bake for another 10-12 minutes, or until the top of the rolls are golden brown. Keep a close eye to prevent burning once uncovered.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, then separate sliders and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious cranberry turkey sliders!

Notes

  • Use thick-cut deli turkey or ham for best flavor and texture.
  • Swiss or Provolone cheese gives a mild, creamy complement to cranberry sauce.
  • Make sure to keep an eye on the sliders when baking uncovered to prevent burning.
  • Best served warm to enjoy melty cheese and soft rolls.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving for convenience.
