Description

This Halloween Bark recipe is a fun and festive no-bake treat that combines melted chocolate with a variety of spooky and colorful toppings like candy corn, sprinkles, pretzels, and leftover Halloween candy. Perfect for parties or a sweet snack during the Halloween season, it’s quick to prepare and can be customized with your favorite mix-ins.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Base

  • 1 pound semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate bars)

Toppings

  • 1/3 cup candy corn
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles and/or candy eyeballs
  • Pretzels
  • Leftover Halloween candy (such as M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, or candy bars, chopped if necessary)
  • Nuts (such as almonds, peanuts, or shelled pistachios)
  • Dried fruit (such as cranberries or chopped dried apricots)
  • Broken potato chips
  • Oreo cookies (especially Halloween-colored ones, chopped)
  • Flaky sea salt
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Gummy worms
  • Granola
  • Broken graham crackers
  • Flaked or shredded coconut
  • Roasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a rimmed baking pan with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate in a double boiler and heat gently, stirring frequently until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in a microwave using short bursts and stirring between intervals.
  3. Spread Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking pan. Using a knife or offset spatula, spread it evenly to about 1/4- to 1/2-inch thickness.
  4. Add Toppings: Evenly sprinkle candy corn, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and any other chosen toppings over the melted chocolate.
  5. Harden: Let the bark harden at room temperature for at least 2 hours until very firm, or place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes until set.
  6. Serve or Store: Once firm, break the bark into pieces and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in a cool place to maintain freshness.

Notes

  • This Halloween Bark is quick and easy to make—just melt chocolate, add your favorite Halloween-themed toppings, and let it set.
  • You can melt the chocolate either in a double boiler or in the microwave for convenience; just be careful not to overheat.
  • Feel free to customize the bark with your favorite mix-ins based on what candies or snacks you have available.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container to keep it fresh and prevent it from absorbing other odors.
