Guacamole Layer
- 2 large ripe avocados
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp coarse black pepper
Base & Cream Layers
- 1 can plain flavored bean dip
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
Vegetables & Garnishes
- 1/4 cup sliced and chopped green onions
- 1 large tomato (cored, halved, seeded, and coarsely chopped – about 1 cup)
- 1 can pitted ripe olives (drained and sliced, reserve 6 whole olives for spiders)
Cheese and Decoration
- 8 ounces finely grated cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for spider web)
- Round corn tortilla chips (for serving)
Instructions
- Spread Bean Dip: In a 9-inch pie plate, evenly spread the plain flavored bean dip as the base layer.
- Make Guacamole: In a small bowl, mash the two large ripe avocados. Add lemon juice, garlic salt, and coarse black pepper, then mix well to combine.
- Add Guacamole Layer: Spread the prepared guacamole evenly over the bean dip layer.
- Prepare Sour Cream Mixture: In another small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, and taco seasoning mix. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Spread Sour Cream Mixture: Spread the sour cream and mayonnaise mixture over the guacamole layer, ensuring the guacamole is completely covered.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle the finely grated cheese over the sour cream mixture evenly.
- Garnish Edges: Around the edge of the dip, arrange the chopped tomato, sliced olives, and chopped green onions to create colorful accents.
- Create Spider Web: Place 1/2 cup of sour cream into a plastic sandwich bag, snip off a tip of one corner, and pipe a spider web pattern over the top of the cheese layer.
- Make Olive Spiders: Take one whole olive and slice it lengthwise for the spider’s body. Slice another olive widthwise for the head, and use olive slices to form legs. Place these olive spiders on the web design.
- Chill: Cover the dip and chill it in the refrigerator until ready to serve, allowing flavors to meld.
- Serve: Serve the spooky seven-layer taco dip with round corn tortilla chips for dipping.
